Because of various problems with Blogger, I've copied everything as of November 26, 2012 over to WordPress. The new location is Ask the Scientologist. I am not deleting this blog and will still accept comments and answer questions here too, but any new articles will appear at the WordPress location. I apologize if this causes any problems.

Contact Me

After years of procrastination, I've finally added a Contact Me form for anyone who wishes to contact me privately rather than post a comment.

I'm using Kontactr, we'll see how that goes.  So far it seems acceptable.  It does append an ad to the email, but since that only goes to me, I can live with it.

The form requires that you enter an email address, but it does not have to be a real one.  If you don't want to include your email, use something like "bogus@gmail.com".

  1. Any upcoming posts?

I'm finding out interesting things about Apple School in San Diego county. It seems that they were in Del Mar, El Cajon, and they had a storefront in La Mesa during the early 1980s. I attended the storefront school for six months, then moved on (family was not in Co$.) My guess is that they were trying to stay away either from the Department of Ed or the Finance Police. It always was weird to me as a kid that the La Mesa place could appear and disappear (1983-84) so quickly.

  2. @Strelnikov

Yes, I'm working on several new posts, but haven't gotten them just right yet.

Interesting information about Apple School. I remember hearing about Apple School, but don't know much about it. That was back when I was in Scientology, but not in San Diego. I'd love to hear from someone who was staff back then, maybe they'd explain why so many moves in such a short time.

Anyway, new post is in the oven, soon to be done.

  3. The short answer is squirreling; the original Apple School in LA was taken over by the Finance Police and that was the charge. I really think that what was going on was that Miscavage was flexing his muscles by rewriting Ron's orders and he didn't see the value of a Scientology outfit that allowed outsiders in; it fits either DM's shortsightedness and money fixation or LRH's drug addled paranoia, take your pick.

  4. This is an excellent site Bill, really cleaning things up. Thanks. I'm curious about what kind of traffic you get here. For example, how many people read "Real Live OTs?"

  5. Thank you!

Since Blogger started keeping stats (June 2009), this blog has a a bit over 100,000 pageviews. I don't have any specific stats for "Real Live OTs!" since it wasn't one of the higher ones.

The various "Ask a Question" posts are always high, because they remain pretty active.

Other than those, the "The New Yorker Article and All the Reactions" article was the most viewed of all my articles at around 3,000 pageviews.

Of course, some of these articles get copied about and read elsewhere -- and I'm very happy when that happens, but have no stats for that.
